Check for updates- UPDATED JUNE 23~~:)
*Date: June 30, 2024
*Start time: 5PM MST
*Schedule for the day: Arrive at the farm between 5-6 for mingling and enjoying the farm; 6PM we will start the ceremony and then enjoy a meal together. We can be at the farm until 9:30PM.
*Venue: Peaceful Belly Farm 20023 Hoskins Road Caldwell, ID (about a 40 min drive from Boise).
*Parking: There is a gravel parking lot at the farm. Please carpool wherever possible.
*Attire: Nothing too fancy, something with flowers on it. (See weather note for a practical guide to dressing.) We will be on a farm, and walking across soft ground at points, so think of that when choosing footwear.
*Weather: June is sunny and hot on the Snake River Plain, where we will be. The average high temp is 84 degrees fahrenheit. Make sure to wear light clothing, bring a water bottle, and a hat or delightful parasol. Sunscreen is encouraged, though we will be in the shade.
*Accomodations: Matt and Teal live in Boise’s North End. There are lots of Air BnB options nearby, and downtown Boise hotels are abundant. Our address is 736 W Ridenbaugh St, Boise, ID 83702.
*Nearest Airport: Boise.
*Your visit: PLEASE get in touch with us if you’d like to chat about your time in Boise. It is a great town to walk in if you are staying close to downtown, biking is supported with a greenbelt system and bike lanes, and there are bike rentals available.
1) For Coffee shops: Flying M on 5th and Idaho --- that's a real good and comfortable one. Slow By Slow on 8th is hipper but less comfortable. Push and Pour in Garden City (across the street from the Lit Room) is very close to the river and owned by some nice skateboarder guys who do fun art. Java in Hyde Park is close to Camel's Back Park, which is the best park, and also right by me and Teals place. Bikes and Beans on Vista has bikes and beans. Broadcast on 11th is nice because it is next to a big pink tree. The Record Exchange a block down sells records AND Coffee.
2) We've been hurtin on independent bookstores lately. The best ones got priced out. Rediscovered Books is nice. Once and Future Books is owned by the same people --- focuses on used books, has pretty big selection, good prices, and is right by DK Donuts. Best Idaho Book: "Big Trouble". Best Idaho Author: Annie Pike Greenwood.
3) If you want to see art things>>> The Common Well in Garden City. They have lots of studios going on, a gallery, and a very little shop that I think is still selling some things me and Teal made. The Hide Out (on Broadway) is coffee AND jewelry making studio/shop.
4) There's a real nice used paper / craft supplies store above North End Organic Nursery (in Garden City (they also have coffee but I'm not sure how serious they are about it)). The Idaho Youth Ranch on 15th is good. The Mormon thrift stores, Deseret Industries, are good.
5) Just to the North of town are abundant trails to be explored, so if it is your thing, plan a hike! The Boise river is beautiful and runs right through downtown, so bring swimming gear if you want to!
*How to be involved in the wedding: Please get in touch with us if you would like to share music or words or anything at the June 29 picnic (casual/fun park vibes) or at the wedding itself. We would love for this experience to feel like a shared celebration of love, and welcome creative ideas!
*Additional events: June 29 afternoon 3-8PM park picnic, at Kristen Armstrong Park in Boise, ID. This will include music and a potluck and lots of hanging out and maybe some games. Ever heard of the ball game YOBO? We invented that, and we might bring it into the mix.
*Gifts: Please limit your gifts to nice cards, art, or funds towards our hopeful future home purchase, or honeymoon ramble.
